First Sitting of NA Inquiry Committee held

On November 30, the first sitting of the Inquiry Committee for Studying the Use of Funds Collected by the "Hayastan" All - Armenian Fund and Transferred to the State Budget of the Republic of Armenia moderated by Artsvik Minasyan was held. It was noted that in October of 2021, on the initiative of the NA With Honor Faction the Inquiry Committee was set up by force of law in parliament. It consists of 11 members: 7 deputies of them represent the Civil Contract, 3 – Armenia and 1 – With Honor Factions. Artsvik Minasyan, moderating the sitting, noted that the activities of the Inquiry Committee would be public, but in relation to certain items, the sittings would behind the closed doors. The main aim is to raise the legality of the use of 52.7bln AMD transferred to the state budget by the Fund.

As a result of debate, the deputies approved the work order of the Inquiry Committee, which was revised according to the work order of the NA Standing Committees.

By Gevorg Papoyan’s proposal, the Committee members voted for Sergey Bagratyan’s candidacy in the post of the Deputy Chair of the Committee.

The MPs debated and approved also other agenda items regarding the activity of the Inquiry Committee.
